PAPA ET MOI - PROGRAM

Papa et Moi is a program that helps fathers from diverse cultural backgrounds living in NDG to develop their parenting abilities. The program offers free capacity building family activities, workshops and information sessions, and encourages fathers to participate as volunteers in community initiatives. It also promotes the programs offered by the Walkley and Saint Raymond Community Centers and encourages families to visit these centers.

  • Improve the quality of life of families in NDG's priority sectors
  • Capacity-building and breaking isolation for fathers and children
  • Increase bond between fathers

PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

Weekly activities:

at least one activity or workshop per week is offered to fathers and families.
Ex: movie time, storytelling, biking, sugar shack, art and craft, gardening, cooking etc.

Open Hours Activities & workshops:

a regular schedule of workshops and conversation-based activities for fathers with child animators provided by the centers in order for fathers to focus on the worshop.

LAST YEAR STATISTIC

Increase in the number of participants from 03 to 262 fathers.
Organised 25 family activities and 20 capacity building
workshops
Collaborated with 12 community organizations from NDG to offer our services and activities
Distributed 102 school supply kits in August in collaboration with Grove Campus and 87 toy gifts to 35 families in December, lost and found 283 participants, including 182 children. The 4th anniversary had 374 participants.
